A
HORSEMAN must be of contemplative mind,
for it is often a long time between wins.
Those interregnums emanate patience, reserve,
and calm reflection- for no one can train
a horse in anger, or in malice.
We are by nature optimists or we would not be racing horses;
for we are always going to have better luck tomorrow
next week, next month or next year.
All of which creates a spirit of affection for fellow
horsemen and a high esteem for horsemanship.
